Josephine Ann Morse, 76, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

Born on August 18, 1949 in Brooklyn, NY, Josephine was the daughter of the late Louise Purpura (Satoretti) and Samuel Purpura.

Josephine retired from MUSC. She was a proud member of Sacred Heart Church, and participated in the hospitality committee, and was active with the Ladies of Charity organization. She was a gourmet cook, and loved to travel.

Josephine is survived by her husband, Robert Morse; sons, William Morse and Ryan Morse; step son Robert Morse, and step daughter Tracy Hennessey; grandchildren: Gibson Morse, Ellis Morse and Francesco Morse; and brothers, Philip Purpura and John Purpura.

The memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on August 29th at the McAllister Smith Funeral Home 2501 Bees Ferry Rd , Charleston, SC 29414.
