Juanita Q. Arcalas

Juanita Q. Arcalas, 93 of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 with her family at her side. Called “Nanay” by her loved ones, she was known for her wit, wisdom, and sense of style.

Juanita was born on December 8, 1928 in Masinloc, Zambales, Philippines to the late Sixta and Zacharias Quinit, and was the oldest of 6 children. 

In 1973, she and her husband moved to North Charleston, SC, and she worked as a seamstress and in food service.

In 1951, she married Nicolas Arcalas, and had six children - Nelia, Joven, Nilda, Jimmy, Noemi, and Jerry.

She will be deeply missed by her husband of 71 years, children, fourteen grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 31st, from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 Saint James Avenue in Goose Creek, South Carolina, followed by the funeral mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
