Judie Stohler, 80, of Goose Creek, SC died May 17, 2023.

Judie was born in Washington, DC on December 11, 1942, to Blanche Marie and James Donald Houston.

Her life was one of courage and resourcefulness in the face of personal tragedies and triumphs. Judie always believed in a better tomorrow and had strong beliefs in the life hereafter. In a computer industry career that spanned thirty years with management roles at IBM, Compaq Computer, and HP, she worked hard and achieved many goals and awards. In this way she was able to provide for her family

In retirement, Judie showed deep devotion to the Florida and South Carolina communities in which she lived and to the churches she worshiped in, including her time with the United Methodist Women, as a Lay Leader, Financial Secretary and in Disciple Bible Studies. For several years, Judie was a hospital auxiliary volunteer at the DeSoto Memorial Hospital in Arcadia, Florida, two of those years as President. She also served on the hospital's Foundation Board. Judie was a Leading Knight in the Arcadia, Florida Elk Lodge #1524.

Judie was a lover of animals and had many beloved pets during her lifetime, including her cat JoJo who survives her. Judie was also a creative writer who loved reading and crossword puzzles.

In addition to her parents, Judie was predeceased by her husband Leon Ray Stohler, only weeks prior to her passing. She and Leon were married in 2010 and he was a devoted husband. Judie was also predeceased by her first husband, Phillip LaForce Hutchinson and son, Phillip LaForce Hutchinson, Jr.

Judie is survived by her daughters, Dana Harrington (Don Harrington) and Lesley Larson (Kevin Cazabon). She is also survived by six grandchildren Sheilah Richards (Brian Richards), Michael Baumbach, Amy Steinhoff (Peter Steinhoff), Meghan Sheehan (Steffon Lawson-Pugh), Jordan Larson (Samantha Blake), and Rachel Hard (Luke Lehouiller), and four great-grandchildren Madison Richards, Beau Richards, Maximilian Steinhoff, and Mollie Steinhoff.

A celebration of Judie's life will be held on Saturday, June 3 at 1:00 P.M. at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, in Goose Creek, SC. Internment will take place at Whispering Pines Memorial Gardens, 3044 Old Highway 52 Moncks Corner, SC immediately following the service.
