Larry R. Morris of Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025. Born in Alexia, Illinois to the late Eva (Swanson) and Nelson Morris. Larry grew up immersed in the simple joys of Midwestern life. He was a three-sport athlete and a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.

Larry attended Augustan College, where he played football and earned a degree in business administration and finance. After college, he was commissioned in the United States Navy as a Naval Aviator, which was one of his greatest joys in life, as he embraced over 300 missions in active combat.

Following his military service, Larry embarked on a distinguished career in the medical diagnostic industry, ultimately serving as Vice President/Chief Customer Relations Officer at Quest Diagnostics/SmithKline. Throughout his career, he was respected not only for his leadership and sharp intellect, but his integrity, kindness, humility, and a deep care for developing others.

Larry lived a full and joyful life with his wife, Joy Morris. A devoted father to Jennifer Morris ( Michael Dover) and Emily Kast, grandfather to Miles and Gus Dover, and Eva and Walker Kast. He is survived by his sister, Toni Kazarian ( Nick Gonzales), niece, Tabitha Kelejian (Carlo), and nephew, TJ Kazarian. Larry was a dedicated dog father, for many years, to many four-legged companions.

A member of Saint Peter’s Church, in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, he was a faithful servant to his savior and embraced the glory of His kingdom, with a love for the congregation and Pastor.

As a founding member of Bulls Bay Golf Club, Larry was passionate about the game of golf, loved his golf blitz buddies, and considered Bulls Bay a second home destination. He initiated the Veterans Day Tournament to honor all who served their country. He also had a deep love for all sports and never missed a chance to attend a game, including Little League.

Despite his many accomplishments, Larry remained humble, grounded in faith, and happiest living a simple life. With a quiet strength, generosity, always a warm smile, and gentle spirit, he left a lasting mark on all who were able to share in his remarkable life.

A true warrior of honor, Larry now rests, finally and mercifully, in peace.

The family will have a private gathering in honor of his life at Bulls Bay Golf Club.
