Larry Douglas Neupert, 75, Commander Retired U.S. Navy, Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025.

Born on March 30, 1950 in Syracuse, NY, Larry was the son of the late Hazel Bort and Harry Neupert.

Larry spent most of his younger years on the family farm. Upon graduation from Butler High School in Alabama, Larry enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving as a medic in Vietnam. After the Army, he went onto nursing school. He earned an Associate Degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, and eventually, with the help of the U.S. Navy, he earned his Master's Degree in Nurse Anesthesia. For over 40 years between civilian and military jobs, he cared for thousands of patients. He deeply loved his calling as a nurse, his military service, his family and his devotion to our Lord and Savior.

Larry was also active in his community. He served as a Community Emergency Response Team instructor, a HAM radio operator for Berkeley County, and a Vet-to-Vet hospice volunteer, visiting veterans and participating in the annual Veterans Day program. He also worked with formerly homeless veterans at Patriot Villas, offering support, conversation, and helping distribute food donations.

Larry is preceded in death by his son, Mark Neupert.

He leaves to cherish his memory of his dear friend and companion, Barbara, along with her family, who became a part of his own. He is also survived by his two beloved dogs, Cuddles and Hope, and his daughter, Jenna Bowen (Randy) of Dayton Ohio.
