Lurline Orita Phillips

Lurline Orita Phillips, 62, of Swansea, South Carolina entered eternal rest on September 18th, 2026. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th, 2026 from 10-12 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home in West Columbia. There will also be a celebration of life in memory of Orita at a later date.

Orita was born December 24th, 1963 in Lexington, South Carolina to her father, the late Legree H Williams, and is survived by her mother, Helen Sharpe Williams of Swansea. Orita was a wonderful mother, friend, and to anyone that knew her, she was the best grandma to her two grandchildren, Kayl and Zoey. There was absolutely nothing in this world that she adored more than her grandbabies. If they wanted it, they got it, and she was not afraid to tell you that. Whether it was a birthday party, or a sports event, her grandkids knew she would be right there cheering.

Orita is survived by her mother, Helen Sharpe Williams of Swansea; brother, Legree Williams of North; daughter, Marie Varn (Taylor) of Orangeburg; son Michael Phillips of Swansea, her longtime partner of more than 15 years, Raymond Mullins of Columbia; 2 grandchildren, Kayl and Zoey; and a number of nieces and nephews. Orita was preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Dianne Williams, and Mona Lisa Williams.
