Lyn Walker Brown

Lyn Walker Brown, 65, of Plum Branch, SC passed away on February 3, 2023.

Lyn was born on May 25, 1957, in Charleston, SC to John “Spike” Harold Walker, Sr and Julia Rowell Walker.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Newby (Dusty); her grandchildren, Olin and River Newby; a dearly beloved brother, Benny Walker (Rhonda); as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Spike and Julia Walker; her husband David Brown; and her brothers Harold, Charlie, Tommy, and Billy Walker. 

Lyn had a fun-loving spirit that welcomed and drew people in. She enjoyed many things in life such as camping, traveling, anything that had to do with the beach, and tending to her “little house in the country.” She will be truly missed by many.

A Memorial gathering will be held Saturday, February 18, 2023, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 347 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412 from 10:00 am -12:00 pm. Friends and loved ones are invited to drop in throughout that time to pay respects, share memories and celebrate her life.  

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Lyn to Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont in Greenwood, SC.
