Marcia Noes Pettus

Marcia Noes Pettus, 79 of Johns Island, SC, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.


Born on December 3, 1942, in Iowa City, IA, she was a daughter of the late Helen Baker Maxwell and the late Marcus Maxwell.


Marcia spent 40 years in the restaurant business, and started a successful kennel operation. She loved arranging flowers, being around her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who called her Grandma. She was a very giving person, willing to take anybody in who needed it, people or pets. She will be remembered as the gem that shined in the family.


Besides her parents, Marcia is preceded in death by her brother, Marcus Maxwell and 2 grandsons: Marcus and Christopher Noes.


Marcia is survived by her partner of 40 years, James Pettus; children: Dennis Noes (Audita); Shawn Noes and Jeffery Noes; grandchildren: Natalie, Milani, James, Kelly, Michael and Matthew and  great-grandchildren: Cole, Connor, Joshua, Trey, Cooper, Abel and Autumn; sister, Katherine Schneider (Richard); niece, Carol Anne; and her fur babies, Scooter, Harlow and Wookie.


The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Roper St. Francis Cancer Center, 2085 Henry Tecklenburg Dr, Charleston, SC 29414.
