Mark F. Myszka, 68, of Summerville, SC, formerly of Clarence Center, NY, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, after a long illness.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Elizabeth Benz Myszka; children, Lt. Col. Adam M. Myszka, USAF (Katie Urbonas), and Janine A. Myszka; and grandchildren Hunter, Nolan, and Aurora Myszka.
Born on May 18, 1957, in Buffalo, NY, he was the devoted son of Cecilia (Szeliga) and the late Francis Myszka; brother of Louann (Gerald) Wojcinski and the late Daniel (Karen) Myszka; and brother-in-law of Michael (LuAnn Yerks) Benz, David Benz, Rosemarie (Paul) Ericson, Christopher (Kat Clark) Benz, and Karen (Edward) Hyder. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mark achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1971 and served as captain of the safety patrol at Our Lady Help of Christians Elementary School. He was also an altar server at the parish church..
He remained active in the Scouting community while his son was involved, serving as an Assistant District Commissioner in the Greater Niagara Frontier Council, BSA.
Mark served as president of the University at Buffalo School of Management Alumni Association; co-president of the USAFA Parents Association of WNY; a member of the St. Mary's (Swormville, NY) Parish Council; and a founding member of the building committee at St. Francis Caracciolo Mission in Summerville, SC.
A lifelong Buffalo Bills fan, Mark held season tickets for many years and attended two Super Bowls. He was a true cinephile who also loved traveling, fishing, and spending time with his three beloved grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 6 to 8 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation in Goose Creek.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 St. James Avenue in Goose Creek.
A Memorial Mass is scheduled for 10:30 AM Thursday, November 6, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 6919 Transit Road, Swormville, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted by St. Francis Caracciolo Building Fund c/o Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 St. James Ave., Goose Creek, SC 29445.
