Mary Klein Ankersen

Mary Anna Klein Ankersen, 99, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023. Born on November 9, 1923, in Mount Pleasant, S.C., a daughter of the late Edna Klein (Corker) and Edward Klein.

She was a member of Christ our King Church. Mary enjoyed many hobbies. She was an avid reader and a captivating story teller. She enjoyed all things arts and craft especially crochet and sewing. When others described her, words such as "incredible, forgiving, strong, wise and favorite" are often spoken. She was a homemaker and worked in clothing and home de;cor sales. She had an eye for fashion and style! She saw the beauty in life and cherished beautiful flowers, her family and her faith.

Mary is preceded in death by Benjamin Franklin Ankersen Sr. (Husband), Edward Klein Sr. (Father), Edna Klein (Mother), Julia Fuzia (Sister), Edward Klein Jr. (Brother), Albert Klein (Brother) and Keith Stewart (Grandson).

Surviving are her seven children and spouses: Ben Ankersen (Judy), Mary Bailey, Ruth Wilson, Ed Ankersen (Lynne), David Ankersen, Teresa Ankersen, Rebecca Long (Donald). Her blessings continue with 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great-greatgrandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home Mount Pleasant, 1520 Rifle Range Rd., Mount Pleasant, SC. The Mass for Christian Burial will be held on Friday July 14 th, 2023, at 11:00 am at Christ Our King Catholic Church located at 1149 Russel Drive, Mt Pleasant S.C. The burial will follow the mass immediately at St. Lawrence Cemetery located at 60 Huguenin Ave., Charleston, S.C.
