Mary D. Suggs, homemaker and beloved spouse of Willie Suggs Jr., passed away early Sunday morning on February 21, 2021. She was eighty-one years of age and would have been married sixty-six years in April. Those who knew Mary and Willie saw their devoted love to one another and to God.
Mary was born April 16, 1939 in Washburn, Missouri to the late John Henry and Clarice Celeste Dudley. She is survived by her husband Willie Suggs Jr., her two sisters Edna Saxon and Jonnie Hunt, her daughter Karen Boni, her grandchildren Allie and Bobby Boni, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends and she will always be remembered for bringing them together. Whether it was an Easter Egg hunt for the children or a small luncheon with ladies from her Church, Mary always welcomed those she loved and knew. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, crocheting, and reading Scripture. Most of all she will be remembered for her deep humility and kindness.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26th, at Greenlawn Memorial Park's Mortuary Chapel in Wilmington NC.
