Mary Ellen Wade

Mary Ellen Wade, 83 of Johns Island, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Born on November 22, 1942 in Sturgeon Bay, WI, Mary was a daughter of the late Amelia (Loresch) Dejardine and the late Ralph Dejardine.

Mary's love for her grandchildren was unmatched. She was always available for them through every phase of life. She also loved her dogs, Roxie and Trixie. She enjoyed several hobbies that included walking on the beach to look for seashells and shopping for sweet grass baskets here in Charleston.

Mary is survived by her husband Roy William Wade; her children, Sandra, Sharon, Daniel (Tracey), Susan, Dale, (Leah) and Karl; grandchildren, Ivy (Bryan), Megan (Derek), Ryan, Shelby, Evan, Aaron, Mason, Jacob, Brandon and Matthew; great grandchildren, Mason, Ryder, and Drake, Tyler, Owen, Evelyn, Emmett, Espen, Sophia, Laylah, Athena.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Amelia (Loresch) Dejardine; sisters, Sue and Karen; brother, John; and son-in-law, Todd.

A Celebration of Life service is being planned in her honor at American Legion Post #147 on James Island, where she was a lifetime member of the Lady's Auxilliary. Details will be posted when they have been confirmed. Services are also pending in her hometown of Sturgeon Bay, WI.
