Michael Gentile, 58 of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
Born on March 28, 1965 in Manhattan, NY was a Son of the late Margaret Gentile (McCaffrey) and Vincent Gentile.
Michael grew up in the Bronx, NY, and moved to Congers, NY as a teenager. He graduated from Clarkstown North High School where he played football and would go on to become a successful contractor. He proudly founded his own construction companies: Michael’s Masonry and Blueprint Consulting. When his family moved to South Carolina in 2013, he opened a new business, Precision Renovators, where he continued his passion for construction and worked tirelessly to provide for his family. In his free time, Michael enjoyed watching Miami Dolphins football or New York Mets baseball. He shared his love for sports with his 3 children, Kelsey, James, and Justin, and would frequently devote his time to helping coach his sons’ baseball team. He will be remembered as a loving father, husband, and brother.
Michael is preceded in death by Vincent Gentile (Father), Margaret Gentile (Mother), and Gene Leman (Brother in Law).
Michael is survived by Mary Gentile (Spouse), Kelsey Gentile (Daughter), James Gentile (Son), Justin Gentile (Son), Vincent Gentile (Brother), Linda Gentile (Sister), and Danny Gentile (Brother).
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 10th, from 5pm-7pm at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 1520 Rifle Range Rd in Mount Pleasant, SC.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 11th at St. Benedict Catholic Church, 950 Darrell Creek Trail in Mount Pleasant, SC.

A portion of the proceeds raised will be donated to benefit JDRF, a non-profit organization funding type 1 diabetes research–a disease that Michael unknowingly struggled with. The remaining portion will be dedicated to supporting his children as his family tries to navigate finances during these difficult times.
