Michael Graham Moore

Michael Graham Moore, 52, passed away at home after a brief illness on Monday, January 8, 2024.  Michael was born in Columbia, SC on September 14, 1971 to Archie G. Moore Jr. and Patricia Shull Moore.

Michael was a 1989 graduate of Brookland Cayce High School where he was a member of the Cross-Country Track Team.  He attended The University of S.C. where he Majored in Journalism.  He particularly became interested in the style of writing of his professor, James Dickey, South Carolina Poet Laureate, who encouraged Michael to continue with his writing.  After college Michael worked with the S.C. Retirement System as a Benefits researcher.  One of Michael's interests was in food and cooking which led him into a career as a trained Chef.  Michael's interest in writing continued until his death and some of his work was published.  He was also interested in History and studied Anthropology during his college curriculum.

Michael is survived by his devoted parents, Archie and Patti Moore, his brother Greg J. (Sharon Boone Moore) and an extended family of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.  He was the grandson of the late J. Murray Shull and Vesta Frye Shull and the late Archie G. Moore, Sr. and Thelma Hall Moore.
