Michele Lynn Leonard

Michele Leonard (née Sciarro), 61, of Mount Pleasant, died unexpectedly on Sunday night. Her loss was completely unexpected, and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.

Michele was born in December of 1960 in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. She is preceded in death by her father David and mother Rosemary (née Pfeifer) and granddaughter Olive Margot.

Michele was a diligent and successful business owner and caterer, both occupations tending to her sense of leadership and serving others. As a caring wife to her husband Butch, Michele brought to their home laughter, a sense of style, Steelers decor, and made their house a warm home for anyone to visit.

Michele was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord and the peace that he brought to her life with others and was an integral part of her church, All Saints Lutheran Church in North Mount Pleasant. Michele was especially involved and loved the Via de Cristo program.

Michele’s infectious positivity kept her family and friends going through tough times. Anyone who knew Michele, knew that she was witty, strong-willed, and bubbly; always available to sit and spend time talking and listening. Michele had an immense passion for cooking and could be found in the kitchen of any place she went. Michele’s family and friends will miss her more than words can say.

Michele will be deeply missed by her husband Butch; her two children: Melissa Leonard of Summerville and Rhett Leonard of North Charleston; her granddaughter Marian Peckham of Summerville; her siblings: James Sciarro (Diana) of Marshall, NC; Kathleen Sciarro and Debra Sciarro Marzano (Frank) both of Beaver Falls, PA; her sister-in-law Cheryl Leonard of Mount Pleasant; her nieces and nephews Matthew Sciarro (Beth) of Mount Pleasant; Gina Sciarro King (R.W.) of Weaverville, NC; Jon Shablesky (Leah) and Nick Shablesky (Nicole) both of Beaver Falls, PA; David Marzano (Kelsey) of Cranberry, PA; Julia Marzano Kross (Alex) of Beaver Falls, and Sarah Pitts of Mount Pleasant. Michele is survived by seven great-nieces and great-nephews: Enzo and Vanna Sciarro, Halle and Audrey King, Arlo and Mara Marzano, and Owen Kross.

Family will receive friends on Friday, October 14, 2022, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464. The funeral service will be at All Saints Lutheran Church, 2107 North Highway 17, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29466, at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 15, 2022, with a short reception to follow at the church, and then followed by burial at Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens, 1308 Mathis Ferry Road, Mt. Pleasant, SC 29464, at 1:00 PM.
