Jon Michael "Mike" Pardoll, aged 62, of Kiawah Island, SC passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, in the comfort of his home after battling metastatic melanoma. He was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, and will be missed by all who knew him.
Mike was born on March 16, 1964, in Kansas City, MO and grew up in Overland Park, KS. Mike attended Shawnee Mission South High School graduating in 1984. He then attended Kansas State University becoming a diehard Wildcat fan. At KState, Mike made lifelong friends as a Sigma Chi brother. He graduated in 1987 with a BS/BA in Finance and Accounting.
After graduation, Mike moved to New Jersey taking a job at The Multicare Companies, Inc. He held several finance related and executive positions over his 1987-1994 tenure. He was the Controller before moving on to handle most of the firm’s Seniors Housing acquisitions. Mike parlayed this experience into becoming a successful Seniors Housing broker with the real estate investment firm Marcus & Millichap working both in New York, NY and Charlotte, NC. Most recently, he held the title of Senior Director, National Seniors Housing Group and Executive Managing Director, Investments. In 2019, Mike made his second home his first home and had been enjoying the Kiawah Island beach and amenities since.
Mike loved to golf, a passion he passed on to his son, Zach. When Mike wasn’t on the golf course, which was rare, he was on the baseball field coaching Zach in both recreation and travel ball. Once the baseball ended, Mike could be seen walking golf courses across North Carolina supporting Zach’s golf play. Mike also loved good wine. He was quite the collector and was known for generously sharing his bottles with friends. Mike enjoyed travel. Some of his favorite spots included golf destinations Ireland, Scotland and Hawaii and wine destinations Italy and Spain. He enjoyed family trips to the National Parks and company award trips to Hawaii, California, Mexico, and Costa Rica.
Mike is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kerry Cathcart Pardoll and his son Zach. He is also survived by his father and mother, Jon D. and Phyllis Mueller Pardoll, sisters Karen Kao and Vikki Longwell (Ross), mother-in -law Barbara Cathcart, brother-in-law Kurt Cathcart (Sucheta), sister-in-law Darlene Connors (Charlie), 13 nieces and nephews, and his dog Nash.
We’ve decided not to hold a celebration of life for Mike at this time but may do so at a later date. For now, we ask that you please raise a glass in memory of him, laugh remembering a fun time you shared, and toast a fine man.
