Millard "Bruce" Bessenger

Bruce Bessenger was born on January 28, 1962 in Columbia, South Carolina, and departed this earthly life on July 8, 2025. He is the son of Millard Bessenger and JoAnn Bunch Bessenger. Bruce proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps, and later worked as a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. 

The Visitation for Bruce will be held Thursday July 10, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 200 State Street, West Columbia, SC 29169, from 4:00-6:00pm. Another visitation will be held Friday morning July 11, at 10:00 am, in the sanctuary of the Springtown Baptist Church, 6249 Hadwin Road, Bamberg SC, 29033. The graveside service is scheduled for 11:15 am, in the church cemetery.
