Minyard Emanuel Fletcher Sr, 87 of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
Born on September 7, 1938 in Belton, SC, Minyard was a son of the late Modell Jackson Fletcher and Floyd Fletcher.
Minyard retired as a Chief Quartermaster QMC from the U.S. Navy after 21 years. He started his naval career stationed in San Diego, CA and retired in Charleston, SC as a tugboat captain. He then went on to be an over the road trucker for North American Van Lines Electronics division. He retired from driving after 22 years. In his off time, he enjoyed remodeling the house, woodworking and telling stories about his Navy career and his time as a truck driver. He had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandsons.
Minyard is preceded in death by his parents and followed by his brother Jimmy Fletcher.
Minyard is survived his wife, Patricia Fletcher; son, Minyard Fletcher Jr; daughter, Amy Mucha (Dairen Mucha, Jr.); and grandsons: Dairen Mucha III (Samantha Damon) and William Mucha.
The inurnment will be held at Fort Jackson Nation Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306.
