Mitchell Michael Olsen

Mitchell Michael Olsen, 61 of Charleston, SC, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022.

Born on August 12, 1961 in Bronx, NY, he was a son of the late Geraldine Marinacci Olsen and John Olsen.

Mitchell worked in the steel mill industry for 34 years and had a huge passion for starting up new mills. He was fun-loving and always the life of the party. Everyone who knew him, loved him. Mitchell's grandsons, Austin and Logan were the light of his life. 

Besides his parents, Mitchell is preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Olsen. 

Mitchell is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Arlene Bond Olsen; children, Jessica Hinton (Brian) and Matthew Olsen; grandsons, Austin Hinton and Logan Hinton; aunts, cousins, nieces,nephews, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law. 

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Charleston, SC. After the Burial, the family will receive friends/family at 1696 Sulgrave Rd, Charleston 29414. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
