Nancy Talbot Tevepaugh (71) went home to The Lord on one of her favorite days of the year, Palm Sunday; March 29, 2026.
She was born on May 7, 1954 in Frankfurt, Germany, to the late John Talbot, Sr. and Gladys Talbot. Nancy was a 1972 graduate of Lower Richland Hight School and graduated from Clemson University with honors in 1976 where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. She devoted 30 years to teaching in Lexington School District Four before retiring. She was a dedicated member of Cayce United Methodist Church where she served on numerous committees, sang in the choir, and was an active member of the Room 32 Sunday School class.
She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws (Billy and Peggy Tevepaugh), and her sister (Betsy Marshall).
Nancy is survived by her husband of 47 years, Steve Tevepaugh. Her children, Will Tevepaugh (Caroline), Andy Tevepaugh (Brittany), and Katy Tevepaugh; and her grandchildren Sawyer, Mary Walker, and Declan. She also leaves behind honorary grandchildren Kole Varn, and Luke and Mack Thompson. Additionally she is survived by her siblings, John Talbot (Kathy), Jim Talbot (Sinclaire), and Theresa Talbot; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and loved ones.
Nancy was a devoted wife, mother, Nana, and Christian. The love and dedication she gave to all of those around her, especially the young ones in her life, has left a legacy of love and kindness. She provided a safe space for anyone in need and always had a listening ear and wisdom to share. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren play sports or participate in anything that brought them happiness. She was “All In” and the last thing she watched was her beloved Clemson Tigers win the ACC Championship in gymnastics. Even as she fought hard in her final days her primary concern was the well-being of her family and she spent her final reserves of energy making sure everyone felt seen, heard, and loved.
The family wishes to offer a special thank you to the team at Three Oaks Hospice whose kindness allowed us to give her the gift of leaving her Earthly form on her own terms. Your kindness and care matters more than you know and will never be forgotten. Additionally, the family would like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Hyder and the Palliative Care team at Prisma Health Richland Hospital for their compassionate care.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite youth sports organization.
