Nellie Ann Keller Weaver, 83 of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
Born on March 13, 1942, in Charleston, SC, Nellie was a daughter of the late Frances Peters Keller and Robert Keller.
Nellie’s life revolved around her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and siblings. She was an accomplished dancer and artist and owner of a successful dance school. She was a legendary cheerleading coach of the Goodwin Gators. Her team won seven straight cheerleading championships. As an artist she most loved painting wading birds and magnolias. She loved both animals and birds.
Nellie believed in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She would not allow anything to keep her from attending church on Sundays.
Nellie is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Frances Keller; and brother, Robert LeRoy Keller, III.
Nellie is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert Weaver, sons, Robert Weaver, Jr. and Chad Weaver (Shannon), daughter, Robin Renee Weaver; brothers, Russell Keller, Holland Keller, Kenny Keller, Randy Keller; and sister, Robin Peterson; grandchildren, Emily Gaudrault (Matt), Walker Jack Weaver, Gabrielle Cox, Molly Weaver, Clayton Weaver, and Maggie Weaver; great grandchildren, Opal Mae Gaudrault and Mark Gaudrault; and her baby cockatiel, “Cheeks.”
The family will receive friends on Monday, July 28, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation – James Island, 347 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412.
The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Church of the Nativity, 1061 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Gardens, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Nellie's memory to Pet Helpers, 1447 Folly Road, Charleston, SC 29412, 843-795-1110.
