Paul Wayne Hunt

Paul Hunt, 65 of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, passed away on September 18, 2023.

Paul was born on December 3, 1957 in Hernando, MS, the son of Marie and James Hunt. 

Paul and his family moved to Charleston, SC in 1981 and he began a career at the Medical University of South Carolina. Through years of hard work and dedication, he worked his way up to become Supervisor of Engineering Facilities and retired from MUSC in May of 2014.

Paul was a devoted family man and friend to all who knew him. When Paul wasn't spending time with family or attending his grandkids events, you could find him on the golf course, fishing, or lending a helping hand.  Paul was always willing to help out with any situation and was usually the first one friends and family called for help. It's hard to express how truly selfless Paul was.  He spent most of his time doing acts of kindness, always putting others before himself.  

Paul recently celebrated 25 wonderful years of marriage to his lovely wife, Paddy Hunt.

Paul leaves behind his wife, Paddy Hunt; daughter, Starr Gardy (Matthew); two sons, Michael Hunt (Janel) and Joshua Hunt (Jocelyn); grandchildren: Trenton Hunter, Amelia Gardy, Ava Hunt, April Hunt, Raya Hunt, Mackenzie Hunt, Jace Hunt and Veda Hunt; and siblings, Ann Rivera and Jean Richards. 

Paul will be dearly missed by all who knew him. 

The service will be held at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home at 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 2501 Bees Ferry Road, Charleston, SC 29414.
