Pauline Jenette Sutton, 92, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026. Born on December 4, 1933, in Mt. Ulla, North Carolina, Pauline was the daughter of the late Inez Lipe Graham and the late John Graham. Pauline (Polly) was a loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, and Oma to her family. She was a military spouse who traveled extensively, visiting all 50 states and parts of Europe. She was a deeply religious woman, a member and strong supporter of Martin Luther Lutheran Church on James Island. A woman with a heart of gold, she enjoyed watching sports, especially her beloved Atlanta Braves, and always had a novel to read. She loved God and her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, for to know Polly was to love her. Polly is preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Sutton; her parents; siblings: Thomas Graham (Elsie), Carl Graham (Lois), Helen Poteat (Hayden), Ruth Overcash Brown (Maynard) and Doris McCarn (Charles), and grandson, John Drews Sutton Polly is survived by her four children: Bob Ray Sutton (Bobbie), Margaret Sutton Olsen, Thomas Lee Sutton (Gail), and Paula Lynn Sutton; and sisters-in-law: Shirley Mull (Gene), Judith Sutton, and Doris Sutton (Don). The family later grew to include 3 grandsons, 5 granddaughters, 14 great-grandchildren and 1great-great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Martin Luther Lutheran Church, Respite Care.
