Rita Jean Putnum, 61, of Summerville, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 13, 2021 in Summerville.
Born on June 23, 1959 in Alexandria, Virginia, Rita was a daughter of the late Ralph Owens and Hannie (Whisant) Owens.
Rita worked for many years a paralegal in the legal industry and she will be remembered by her family for her loving care of others.
She enjoyed watching Chicago Sports and spending time with her family.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jonathan G. " Jon " Putnum.
Those who will most cherish her memory are her sons, Jeremy L. Putnum of Summerville and Jason Putnum of Goose Creek; her granddaughter, Keelie Rae Putnum of Goose Creek and her best friend, Scott Harrison of Summerville.
A gathering of Rita's family and friends for a time of reflection will be held from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation Center, 869 St. James Avenue, Goose Creek, South Carolina. In accordance with Rita's wishes cremation will follow and she will be placed with her husband later in time.
