Robert Dean "Bob" Bush

Robert Dean "Bob" Bush, 75, of Hanahan, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Bob was born May 29, 1951, in Bellefontaine, Ohio, to the late Mildred Rex Bush and John Bush. He married young and spent 45 years building a career with Worthington Industries. After moving to the Charleston area, he continued working with Feralloy.

Bob was a man of strong opinions and a personality all his own. He was stubborn, organized, punctual, and fiercely reliable. If you needed him, he was there. He didn't always make it easy on you-and he probably wouldn't hesitate to tell you what he thought-but you always knew where you stood with Bob.

He loved sports, especially football and golf, and few things rivaled his passion for The Ohio State University. He adored golf and played whenever he could. He also had a lifelong love affair with cars, owning more of them over the years than anyone could reasonably keep track of.

For all the things Bob enjoyed, some of his favorite moments were the simplest: a round of golf, an Ohio State football game, talking about sports or cars, and coming home to a cold beer.

Bob leaves behind a lifetime of memories and the family and friends who shared it with him. He will be remembered for his loyalty, his strong personality, his passions, and, most of all, for being someone people could count on.

He was simply Bob-and there will never be another one quite like him.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry Bush; and sister-in-law, Cathy Bush.

Bob is survived by his wife, Tara "Michele" Bush; son, Ryan Bush (Ashley); daughter, Kristen Brown (Mark); brother, Ronald Bush; grandchildren: Connor Beck, Macy Brown, and Miles Brown; step-grandchildren: Tyler Chambers, Mikayla Chambers, and Matthew Chambers; sister-in-law, Ann Bush; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Dorchester Memorial Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Rd, Summerville, SC 29485.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.
