Robert F. Sheridan

Robert Francis Sheridan, USMC (Retired), 91, of Isle of Palms, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 4, 2022. His devoted wife is Dean Farmer Aldinger Sheridan.

Born on January 13, 1931, in Buffalo, New York, he was the son of the late Richard and Mabel Donahue Sheridan. He graduated from Georgetown University and the University of Virginia. Robert's military career as a commissioned officer with the United States Marine Corps was impeccable. He bravely fought for his country during two tours in the Vietnam War, as a senior adviser. He received numerous awards for his service with valor, including the Silver Star, the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, and three Purple Hearts.

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his sons Mark Sheridan (Mary Jo), Tim Sheridan (Jean), Charlie Aldinger (Kelly); and daughters Karin Hanback and Colleen Sheridan. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Richard Sheridan and his wife Nancy, and sisters Lois Boehmer and Day Anne Sheridan. He was also preceded in death by daughter Cathy Sheridan and sons Michael, Kevin, and Patrick Sheridan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, 1204 Middle Street, Sullivan’s Island, SC 29482, on October 15, 2022, at 10:00 AM. The burial will occur on a later date at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia.
