Ronald W Copeland

Ronald W. Copeland, 66, of Summerville, SC passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.

Born in Moreno Valley, CA on December 26, 1957, he was the cherished son of the late Mary and Joseph Copeland, Jr.

Ronald, affectionately known as Ron, was beloved for his gentle spirit and subtle humor. A loving and attentive husband, father, brother, and friend, Ron's warmth and joy enriched every gathering.  An avid musician, he especially loved playing the drums and performed with his band, the "Live Wire Band", among others throughout his life.

Ron enjoyed his retirement following a dedicated career at Charleston Public Works. His days were filled with music, laughter, and love, traits that defined his life.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents; his older brother, Sid Copeland; brother-in-law, Michael Judd; and sister-in-law, Colleen Wall.

He is survived by his loving wife, Roseanne Copeland; his sons, Brian Martin (Veronica) of Colombia, South America and Jeff Martin and Kevin Martin, both of Charleston, SC; sister, Suzy Grove of Kissimmee, FL; and brothers-in-law, William Judd (Diane) of Mims, FL and James Patrick Judd (Elizabeth) of Bluffton, SC.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 starting at 3:00PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral & Cremation, 869 St. James Ave., Goose Creek, SC 29445. The inurnment will be scheduled on a different day, details of which will be announced later.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
