Goose Creek

Ronald James Hade, 68, of Goose Creek, SC passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Born on October 4, 1955 in Elizabeth, NJ he was the son of the late Bessie Browne Hade and the late Thomas Hade.

Everyone loved Ron. He lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of everyone he encountered. Ron was known for his infectious laughter and zest for life. Ron lived each day to the fullest. He found happiness by the sea, where the crashing waves brought him serenity. Ron had a special affinity for birds, especially ducks. He spent countless hours admiring their graceful movements on his pond and found immense happiness in feeding and caring for the birds around his yard.

Ron was an avid supporter of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, cheering passionately for his teams through every season. The sound of Ron screaming "BOOM!" will continue to resonate with his family and friends every time the Yankees hit a home run. While Ron may not have been a fantasy sports guru, he loved partaking in his annual fantasy drafts and engaging in the friendly competitive banter throughout the football and baseball seasons. Draft nights will never be the same without Ron.

Ron had a fondness for simple pleasures, relishing in the camaraderie of a baseball game with a cold beer in hand. He cherished nothing more than spending quality time with his beloved family and friends, creating cherished memories that will endure through generations.

Ron was a United States Army Veteran, serving his country with honor for three years as a Food Service Specialist. He bravely defended freedom and upheld the values of his nation earning the Expert Rifleman and Expert Grenade medals while serving his country in the foreign land of Korea.

Ron is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Elizabeth Savidge.

Along with many memories, Ron leaves behind his beloved wife of 44 years, Nancy Shupp Hade; three cherished children, his daughters, Joanne Murch (Tom) of Anderson, SC and Leanne Carothers (Mike) of Summerville, SC and his son, Ron M. Hade (Jennifer) of Winfield, NJ; his brothers, Charles Hade (Patricia) and Thomas Hade (Lynda); brother-in-laws, Steve Shupp (Gigi), Bob Shupp (Ellen), and Ralph Shupp (Sonya); as well as many loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ron cherished his role as Grampy and found immense joy in spending time with his six grandchildren; Anna Carothers, Brayden Carothers, Benjamin Murch, Hannah Carothers, Charlotte Hade, and Maxim Hade. A very special piece of their hearts died with Ron's passing, but thankfully the remainder is filled with precious and loving memories.

Ron will be truly missed by his furry friend and faithful companion, Ralphy, whom he adopted from the Berkley County Animal Shelter. Out of all the best friends Ron made in his life, Ralphy was truly his ride or die.
