Rosa M Ruiz

Rosa Maria Ramirez de Arellano, 78, of Mount Pleasant, SC, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 19, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Born on September 11, 1943, in New York, NY, Rosie was a daughter of the late Andres Avelino Ramirez de Arellano Noa and Luz del Alba Lazo Ramirez de Arellano, and she was sister of the late Mildred Caridad Ramirez de Arellano Hunt.

Rosie was a loving daughter, sister, mother, mother-in-law, aunt, cousin, and grandmother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and with her family in Miami. She had fond memories of her family and friends in New York and Miami and of her visits to Cuba when she was a little girl. She enjoyed volunteering at Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach on John’s Island and the wonderful times she spent at East Cooper Senior Day Care with people who cared for her very much. Rosie enjoyed listening to records, dancing, and collecting photos of all her family members. She loved sharing stories and visiting with her friends and family. Rosie will be remembered for her wide smile, being quick to laugh, and being quite the “fashionista”.

Rosie is survived by Michael (Cora) de Arellano, and four loving grandchildren, Abigail de Arellano, Andrew de Arellano, Lucas de Arellano, and Hayes de Arellano, as well as dear family members in New York, Miami, and Cuba.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral and Cremation, 1520 Rifle Range Road, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022, 12:00 PM, at Christ Our King Catholic Church, 1122 Russell Drive, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 964 Johnson Road, James Island, SC 29412.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Rosie`s memory may be sent to: Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach on John’s Island and East Cooper Senior Day Care in Mt Pleasant, SC.
