Roy L. Price

Roy L. Price, 94, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, entered his eternal home Friday, January 9, 2026. 

He was born on September 26, 1931 in Cheokee County, SC to the late Fred Roland and Hester Clary Price. 

Roy spent his childhood in Cowpens, SC. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and a member of Crowfield Baptist Church. Roy moved to the Low Country in 1971 and was a cemetery owner and manager for 55 years. He was a hard working, simple man who wanted nothing and gave everything. He treasured time with his family above all else. His grandchildren were the center of his world.

In addition to his parents, Roy was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Price and sisters: Rachel Kirby, Fredree Davis, Dorothy Padgett, Sue Fowler and Nancy Scruggs. 

Roy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy Reams Price; 2 sons: Charles B. Price of Gaffney and Jeff Price (Tamora) of Goose Creek; 4 grandchildren: Andrew Price, Caroline Perry (Jonathan), Jackson Price (Reiley), and Hunley Price; a great-granddaughter, Emery Perry; 3 sisters: Betty Scruggs, Louise Davis (Gene), and Rita Reynolds; and many nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home in Goose Creek. The Memorial service will follow immediately at 3:00 PM. Casual attire is requested so that everyone may be comfortable. The entombment will be a private ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's own choice.
