Ruthie Mae White-Rainey (White)

December 30, 1925 — May 20, 2015

Mrs. Ruthie Mae White-Rainey peacefully entered into eternal life with her Lord and Savior on May 20, 2015. Ruthie was a very dedicated and faithful servant to her Lord, family and friends. She lived life with a joyous and determined spirit that is best described by the words of the Apostle Paul: “I fought a good fight, I finished the course, I have kept the faith, thenceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me on that day.” She was predeceased by her husband, Mr. Benjamin Frank Rainey, and her son, Mr. Joe Louis White. Mrs. Ruthie Mae White-Rainey will forever be remembered and cherished by her children: Nathaniel White and Leroy White of Charleston, SC; Benjamin White of Columbia, SC; Deborah White of Goose Creek, SC; daughters-in-law: Clarice White of Charleston, SC and Dr. Patrice High-White of Columbia, SC; brother, Samuel White, Sr., of Johns Island, SC and sister-in-law, Mae White, of Johns Island, SC; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces; nephews and a host of relatives and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 22, 2015, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home West Ashley Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Lovely Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 670 Bear Swamp Road, Johns Island, SC 29455. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be viewed or submitted online at www.mcalister-smith.com.
