Sandra L. Hubbard, 59, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022.

Born on September 8, 1963, in Montgomery, AL, she was a daughter of the late Gean (Spidel) Cheney and William B Cheney Jr. 

She attended Stono Park Elementary, CE Williams Middle School and St. Andrews High School. 

She earned a 2 Yr Diploma from Trident Technical College in Culinary Arts. During this time, she was part of the Johnson & Wales 4 member team. With her help they won the American Culinary Federation Jr Hot Food Competition, winning the Gold 3 times, culminating into becoming National Grand Champions.  She would eventually find herself being awarded Chef of the Year in Memphis, TN and later worked as a Food Scientist. One title she was most proud of was becoming a certified Judge for the Memphis BBQ Network and the annual Memphis in May Barbecue competition.  That, and being known as "Aunt Sandy" to so many. She was known for standing up for the underdog and for having a kind and loving spirit to all. 

Besides her parents, Sandra is preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie Hubbard of TN, sister Camilla Cheney and brother William B Cheney III. 

Sandra is survived by her sister Ann Cheney of Oregon and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
