Stephen Caldwell Petit

Stephen Caldwell Petit, 78, of Goose Creek, entered into eternal rest on April 14, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Born on September 09, 1943 in Charleston, Stephen was a son of the late Lee Woodrow Petit and Elizabeth Vonder Leith.

Stephen enjoyed fishing, researching his family genealogy, and spending time with his beloved granddaughter Adalyn Ann. Stephen was a Army Specialist in the Army and Army Reserve, serving in Germany during Vietnam War.

Stephen is preceded in death by his son Stacey Lee Petit and is survived by his daughter Paige Mizell of Goose Creek, his sons Stephen Petit II of Harrisburg,NC, Mark Smith of Goose Creek, Paul Smith of Goose Creek, Bidd Smith of Moncks Corner, David Smith of Goose Creek, and daughter Michelle Cummings of McKinney Texas.

The family will receive friends on April 20, 2022 at McAlister-Smith James Island at 347 Folly Road; Charleston, SC 29412 with visitation starting at 9:30am with a short service to begin at 10:30am.

The burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery on James Island at 12:00 noon. Pallbearers will be Mark Smith, Paul Smith, Stephen Petit II, Bidd Smith, David Smith, and Lamarr Richardson
