Stephen Wayne Greer

Stephen Wayne Greer, 66 of Greenville, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 while under hospice care at his daughter’s home in Charleston, South Carolina.

He was born on April 10, 1956 in Bloomington, IN. Stephen was a son of the late Terrance Ann Greer (Armstrong) and Donald Wayne Greer.

Stephen is proceeded in death by his brother Michael Greer and sister Pamela Greer. Stephen, known as Poppi by family and friends, was a proud United States Navy and Law Enforcement Veteran.

He was passionate about cooking, traveling, fishing, as well as building and fixing anything. Stephen made countless friends by striking up a conversation with anyone willing. It was this friendly demeanor that often led his serving heart to help family friends and often strangers in need. What Stephen lived for the most however, was his wife, 5 children, and his 5 grandchildren. His loss will never be filled but his strength and spirit will continue on through his children and grandchildren.

Stephen is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Aida “Lisette” Greer, daughter, Jessy & Blake Adams, four sons, Josue & Megan Nunez, Jeremiah Greer, Jonathan & Heather Greer, Michael Greer grandchildren, Olivia & Asher Adams, Aric and Elena Nunez, and Parker Greer, and service dog/companion Marla.

The family will host a drop in to celebrate Stephen’s life at his daughter, Jessy Adams home Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 1pm to 3pm. All friends and family are welcome. They will also host a similar gathering at Stephen and Lisette’s home in Greenville. Date and time is still to be determined.
