Steve Sturkie

Stevie Ray Sturkie of the Olympia Community in Columbia, SC  passed away on August 28, 2023.

Steve was born October 12, 1957 to the late Billy Ray Sturkie and Vera Dell Sturkie.

He is survived by a sister Sharon Lyndell Yancey and her husband Joe Jr.  Yancey; nephews, Joe Daniel Yancey and Samuel Ray Yancey ; a girlfriend, Tammy Carringer and her brother Alan Bush.

Steve was a painter for 50 years. He worked with Mustard Seed Painting, Sturkie and Sturkie Painting, Ray Miles Painting, and Ricky Sweat Painting. He loved Gamecocks football, playing cards, shooting billiards, and fishing. He will be dearly missed

A funeral service to Celebrate the Life of Stevie Ray Sturkie will be held at 11 a.m on Saturday, September 2nd at West Side Holiness Church (527 Augusta St, West Columbia, SC 29169). Family will greet friends one hour prior in the Sanctuary.
