Steven Edward Wilson, 75, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.
Born on July 2, 1950, in Taylorville, IL, he was the son of the late Janet Stream Wilson and the late Raymond Wilson.
Steve grew up in Clearwater Florida and was proud of his accomplishment of becoming an Eagle Scout. After graduating from high school, he joined the Army and served two tours of duty in Vietnam and completed 20 years of service in the Army. He met his wife Kathy on Indian Rocks Beach where they were married in 1980. They lived in many interesting places such as Germany, Hawaii, and several stateside assignments. A highlight of living in Europe was being able to travel to Scotland and play St. Andrews Golf Course.
After retiring from the Army, Steve attended the Golf Academy of the South in Orlando, FL earning his PGA credentials. He and Kathy chose to live in Charleston, SC where he had many rewarding positions in the golf industry. Steve was an avid golfer and instructor and was fortunate to attend several Masters tournaments in Augusta, GA. His love of scouting continued as he volunteered for many years as an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 79 in West Ashley.
In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother Scott.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kathy; his sister Susan; his nephew, Taylor; and his nieces, Laura and Stephanie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any animal rescue.
