Susan Joi Motley, 67, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 24, 2026. 

Born on June 26, 1959, in Charleston, Susan was the daughter of the late Carrie Griffin Motley and Woodrow Wilson Motley. 

Susan had a special love for animals, especially dogs, who brought her great joy and companionship throughout her life. Among them, her beloved dog, Freckles, held a particularly special place in her heart. 

In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her brothers, Mark Wilson Motley and Ronald Lee Motley; her nephew, Mark Elliott Motley; and numerous beloved aunts and uncles. 

She leaves behind close family members and loved ones who will cherish her memory and the many years they shared with her. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Charleston, South Carolina.
