Tara N. Vandegrift Evans

Tara Nicole Vandegrift Evans, born October 28, 1971, in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania passed away March 17, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. She was the daughter of the late Bruce V. Vandegrift and Mary Lou Vandegrift of Philipsburg Pennsylvania.

Tara was valedictorian of her class at Philipsburg-Osceola High School in 1990, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania class of 1994, Thomas Jefferson University Medical School class of 1999, and completed her residency at the Medical University of South Carolina, in Charleston, South Carolina. She was a primary care physician and partner with Palmetto Primary Care Physicians, and resided in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

Tara is survived by her husband Christopher Evans of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, her mother Mary Lou Vandegrift of Philipsburg Pennsylvania, and her brother Dr. Kurt Vandegrift of State College, Pennsylvania.

Friends and family will be received at the chapel of Seacoast Church, 750 Long Point Road, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina 29464, on Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM, with a memorial service immediately following.

She will be remembered fondly for her compassion and the love of her husband, family, and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be directed to the Charleston Miracle League or One World Health of Charleston, South Carolina.
