Tony Frank Grant, Jr.

Tony Frank Grant Jr., 28, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023.

Born on December 11, 1994 in Harrisburg, PA, he was a son of Deanna Ward and the late Tony Grant.

Tony grew up in New Castle, PA. He went to New Castle High School where he graduated in 2013. When he was in 7th/8th grade he played football, which was called “the best team ever.”  When he graduated from high school he served in the US Army for 6 years, in the 13 Bravo unit. When you asked him what he did, he would simply say “I helped shoot the big guns.” He was stationed in both Hawaii and Europe during his time.

Upon being honorably discharged, he moved to Charleston, SC where he spent the remainder of his life. He was able to marry Chelsea on April 20, 2022 and welcomed his daughter into the world on June 9, 2022. He worked in landscaping and irrigation and absolutely loved his work. He worked for Carolina Landscape and Irrigation Pros.

Tony was the most incredibly social person. He knew someone everywhere he went, from the time he was in high school, he knew everyone and everyone knew Tony. He was able to make friends very quickly and was able to talk to anyone and everyone. If you came into contact with Tony you immediately fell in love with his glowing and wild personality. It was difficult to not laugh around Tony, from his infectious laugh to his naturally hilarious personality. Tony was able to make a friend anywhere he went, and was blessed with so many friends who truly loved him. He also acquired so many nicknames throughout his life, with some being Lōc Dawg, Tone Lōc, Lōc, Tony 2 Timez, and so many more.

Tony loved ghost stories and conspiracy theories and would listen to them constantly. He was notorious for watching scary movies and then having to leave all the lights on. He also loved playing “the game,” with his boys, primarily Call of Duty. He was also known for his amazing mac and cheese that he was so protective of.  If you also knew Tony, he had other loves…

Besides his father, Tony is preceded in death by his brother, Derrick Grant, and grandparents.

Tony is survived by his wife, Chelsea Grant; daughter, Riley Grant; mother, Deanna Ward; and siblings: Cody Foresha, Trisha Foresha and Jamilah Tennant. He also had 5 cousins who were practically brothers to him: Meryle Ward, Marcus Wren, Nigel Wren, Dailyn Moore, and Martell Moore. He also had a second family, Shawn and Khristy Foesha, who he lovingly referred to as “white fam.” He was also surrounded by many loving family members including grandparents, aunts, uncles, and in-laws.
