Wade was born in Columbia, SC on May 17, 1967 and departed this earthly life on June 6, 2026. He was the beloved son of Charles L. Grubbs Sr. and Mary Jane Grubbs.
A skilled welder by trade, Wade worked at Fairmont Tamper for many years. He also enjoyed spending time with his father selling at the Springield Flea Market. In addition, he worked alongside his brother, Charlie, and his nephew, Calev, with 31Enterprise Construction, helping build and remodel homes throughout the community.
Wade's greatest joy was his family. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with Allison and his grandchildren. Whether cheering from the sidelines at their sporting events, taking family trips to the beach, or enjoying camping and fishing adventures together, he created countless memories that will be treasured forever.
Wade especially loved gathering family and friends around good food and fellowship. He was known for his barbeque and took pride in preparing the family's famous BBQ hash recipe, a tradition passed down from his Uncle Butch. His talent for cooking and sharing meals brought people together and reflected the love he had for those around him.
He was also dedicated to mentoring young people through sports, serving as a football coach at Fulmer Middle School and coaching baseball at various levels, including Midlands leagues and travel ball teams. Wade found great fulfillment in helping young athletes develop both on and off the field.
He was preceded in death by his younger brother, Larry J. Grubbs. He is survived by his parents, his daughter, Allison Grubbs, his older brother, Charlie Grubbs, and younger sister, Mary Jean Howard.
