Ursula "Ulli" Anna Palmer, 70, of Charleston, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
Born on July 4, 1955, in Germany, Ursula was the daughter of the late Waltrud Geiger Fehr and the late Rudolf Fehr.
Every year Ulli traveled back to Germany to her family and friends; she was proud of her roots. She also loved the lowcountry, especially Edisto Beach and Folly Beach. She found places like Botany Bay and Caw Caw Park, where she could explore. She was adventurous and earthy, and loved a good bottle of wine and a simple meal cooked just right. Her favorite German meal was Handkäs mit Musik (Hand Cheese with Music).
Ulli worked for years with Mark Morris at Hairs Best and always sported a pretty haircut. She worked at MUSC and Shadowmoss, and was always around a crowd of friends.
For thirty years she helped Jamie Westendorff in the catering business and considered his family as her family, never missing a Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's Day.
She got great joy from her plants and cats. Loyal and unique best describe Ulli.
Ulli is survived by her brother, Harald Fehr (Christiane Gehle-Fehr); nephews, Nicolas Fehr and Julian Fehr.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, West Ashley.
