Virginia Elizabeth (Dean) Coleman, 77, of Charleston, died Saturday, January 17, 2015. Virginia was born in Charleston on October 22, 1937 to the late William F. and Bernadine (Doherty) Dean. She was a longtime caretaker to homebound patients. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 3142. She will be deeply missed by her loving family including her husband, Johnny G. Coleman, her five children; William J Mackinon of Charleston, Wanda D Shuler (Joe) of Ravenel, Glenda M. Patierno (Rick) of James Island, V. Shuren Lane (Chris) of Omaha, Nebraska, Albert S. Moore, II (Sarina) of James Island, 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. The family will receive friends 6:00 until 8:00PM, Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, James Island Chapel, 347 Folly Rd. Funeral service will be 1:00PM, Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, James Island Chapel. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park.
