Wilma Gail Sanders, 83, of Hollywood, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026.

Born on August 19, 1942, in Summerville, SC, Gail was the daughter of the late Margaret Fore Ahrens and the late William Ahrens.

Gail worked in the banking industry for most of her life. When she retired, she opened her own floral shop.

She worked in her floral shop until she retired and, then went to work at Harris Teeter in their floral department.

Gail loved to work in her garden and go camping, especially with the Boy Scouts. She worked to give back to her community through the food bank and food drives. She especially enjoyed being with family.

In addition to her parents, Gail is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Sanders; her brother, Ranny Ahrens; sister-in-law, Ann Ahrens; sister Deborah Ahrens; and grandson, John Fisher.

Gail is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth Sears (Robert) and Mary Wachowski ( Jeff); grandchildren: Wes (Courtney), Andrew (Brie), Amanda (Mike) and Michael (Jaiden), Tonia, Tripp, Jeff and Kristopher; great- grandchildren: Ahren (Julie), Kaylee, Peyton, Lizzie and Sage; and many nieces and nephews

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Christ-St. Paul's Church Cemetery, 4981 Chapel Road in Yonges Island, South Carolina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lowcountry Food Bank and Scouts of America.
