Zelda Hinson Mishoe, 93, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
Born on December 14, 1931, in Loris, SC, Zelda was the daughter of the late Chellie Wright Hinson and the late Beaman Clayton Hinson.
Zelda married the love of her life, Osteen, in 1950; they started a journey that lasted for 66 years. During that time, she was very active in church serving our Lord in many different ways. She first started playing the piano at church when she was 12 years old, and continued until she retired as the church organist; was a Sunday School teacher, was a church secretary, and helped Osteen start the food pantry at Deer Park. She taught kindergarten in the church in Middletown, RI. She was also a teacher's aid.
She loved her family deeply, and was so proud of them all. She was supportive of Osteen in his Navy career, moving many times over the years. While living in Rhode Island, Zelda and Osteen helped to start a Baptist Church, which is still thriving today!
Zelda is survived by her daughters, Debi Mishoe and Rhonda Self (Don); sons, Larry (Cathy) and Michael (Carolyn) Mishoe; grandchildren: Matt, Scott, Aaron, Ben, Kelly, Kyle, Sarah, Andrew, Paul, Susan, Tracie; and great-grandchildren: Abigail, Eden, Benjamin, Bethany, Isaac, Hudson, Amelia, Hannah, Leah, Julia, Noah, Micah, Sawyer, Malachi, Zachary and Carrington.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home in Goose Creek, SC.
A Loving Farewell service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Deer Park Baptist Church, 8875 University Blvd, North Charleston, SC 29406.
