Zuzana Martin

The family of Zuzana Martin is heartbroken to share that Zuzana passed away suddenly in the evening hours of April 7, 2024, at the age of 59. Born on May 25, 1964, in Ruzomberok, Slovakia, Zuzana was the daughter of the late Jozef Gaburjak and the late Anna Gaburjakova.

Zuzana was the beloved wife of Al Martin. Sister to Anna Ivaskova (Jozef) and Maria Drobuliakova (the late Julius). Loving mother of her sons Erik Salka (Allison) and Patrik Salka (Alicia), and daughter Simona Salkova (Amber). Sadly missed by her grandchildren Lucas, Alexander, Jakub and future granddaughter. Zuzana also leaves behind many nieces and nephews in Slovakia.

Zuzana graduated with a Degree in Chemical Engineering at the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, Slovakia. She was a brilliant and intelligent woman, who went on to have a very successful professional career throughout her life specializing in binders and chemical additives for various applications within the building products industry worldwide.

Zuzana loved to travel and had a passion for nature and taking long walks. She was an incredible cook, an avid reader, and enjoyed attending Clemson Tiger Football games. Most importantly, she adored raising her children and spending time with family, they were her life.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 18, 2024, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the McAlister-Smith Funeral Home in Charleston, South Carolina. The Service will immediately follow at the same location at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Zuzana can be made to a Charity of your choice.
