Non-Profit Grant Program

MCF Logo Hanahan SC Funeral Home And Cremations

One of our suppliers, Matthews, makes a donation to The York Children’s Foundation in the name of every family we serve when a death occurs.

The Matthew's Children’s Foundation then awards quarterly grants to non-profit organizations whose sole purpose is to support children. To date, the foundation has given over $2.2 million to primarily community-based children’s charities across the country and many of those are located within our community.

To apply please download the application.

Who fills out the Grant Application?

The grant application is filled out by the charity requesting the grant.

How often can a charity apply?

A charity can apply as often as you wish, but please submit only one application for your organization per quarter. You must submit a new application each quarter.

Is there an IRS form the charity should include if we are tax exempt?

Include a completed IRS Form 990 or 990-EZ.

What other documents should the charity attach to the application?

Use the space on the application to describe your program rather than attaching documents. Additional brochures, attachments, board information, videotapes, letters, etc. will only delay the reviewing process. We send only the requested information to the board of trustees for voting.

How often are grants awarded?

We award grants each quarter. You can apply as often as you wish: just submit your completed application by one of these deadlines:
1st Quarter – April 5th 3rd Quarter – October 5th
2nd Quarter – July 5th 4th Quarter – January 5th
